The Evacuation Warning
This is out of order chronologicaly in my life but it is what we saw on the scoreboard at the Grizzlies game last week and I thought it was a bomb scare so I climbed over the seat and bolted out of the FedExForum as fast as I could and Dean could hardly keep up w/me on the way out the door! The Grizz were playing horribly so we were glad to leave and by the time we got home, they'd restarted the game and the Grizz came back and won!
It was our fourth stadium or arena evacuatioon. One time there was a tornado in the Starkville area and we had to leave the outside of the stadium there and we ended up losing a homecoming game to Troy State.
Another beautiful afternoon in Memphis, a fire alarm went off in the Arena before the game had started so we evacuated and wound up on Beale St. at the late, great Pat O'Briens while they cleared the building for a small fire at a concession stand.
The most dramatic evacuation came in ATL at the SEC basketball tournament when a tornado hit the Georgia Dome and the scoreboard starting bouncing around. Dean saw the hole in the cloth ceiling and determined it was a tornado and we bolted that place practically running over people. The glass and debris were so bad outside the Dome that we were stuck inside the building for two hours and finally the game was resumed and we won. It is always good to win. The walk back to our hotel over broken glass and power lines was an event in itself. I had on my really good black shoes and was very worried about them and Dean calmly took photos of the destruction.

Teavana
Without trying too hard, I have given up coffee in the last two weeks in favor of tea. I had used up every random tea bag in the house when I decided to splurge and order some really good antioxidant teas from Teavana. Camille told me about Teavana some months ago but I was mainly interested in sending her some and not thinking how it could be good for me as well.
I ordered the magic tea maker along w/four flavors of this wonderful elixir. All I have to do is put some of the loose tea mixture in the tea maker, add boiling water and have the best tea EVER in about 2 minutes. Then all I have to do is set the magic tea maker on top of a mug and it filters the wonderful and healthy drink right into the mug. It has to be magic.

Today is Elvis' 75th Birthday
According to Priscilla Presley on the "Today Show" there will be a year-long celebration of Elvis' life from Tupelo to Memphis this year. It is hard to believe he has been gone for so long. Everyone over 40 can probably tell you where they were when they heard the news of his death in 1977. Long live the King of Rock and Roll!

Yesterday Saunders got the good news that he had passed his Professional Engineer's Exam! It seems like we have been waiting forever for the results and now all the suspense is over and we are so proud of him. He is truly the smartest person I know!

Luggage Upgrade
The luggage of the left (or what's left of it) came off the baggage claim and a lady advised me to go to the office and try to get them to do something about it. I didn't have much hope for any help w/a $10 piece of luggage from Tuesday Morning but lo and behold the agent came out with a new piece bigger and better than the damaged goods.
