I guess my new hobby is Bulldog Baseball or is it Bulldawg Baseball? I am never quite sure when to use 'dog or 'dawg. We had a great weekend in Starkville watching State play 4 baseball games in all kinds of weather--mostly cold. There is no cold like a cold baseball game. I saw a lady w/a sign that said, "Thanks, Ron and Welcome, John and something about Omaha. I think we will get back there sooner rather than later. I can't wait til the weather gets warm and lots of people are there to enjoy the new era of MSU baseball.
The other dogs I love are Casper and Jack. When I got back from Starkville today, I went to get Jack and let them play outside in the bright sunlight and sort of forgot about them while I was catching up on my computer and when they came in they'd had a big dig outside. Casper is one thing to clean up in the shower. Jack is another story. It was sort of funny to try to figure out how I am going to get Jack's muddy paws clean and get him back into the kitchen. You really had to be there to see how funny it was w/two wet dogs and lots of mud and water on the bathroom floors. It took so long to get that under control that I didn't get to the store to get food for dinner so we resorted to Sekisui when Saunders and Jordan got home. We ate like P-I-G-Pigs. Our next Seki adventure is going to be in Cordova where I mistakenly purchased a restaurant.com gift certificate. We will be careful not to park too close to any Hummers.

Italian Man and Flower Truck
This is very random but I came across it in my picture files and it made me happy so I wanted it on the blog. Dean, Camille and I were having lunch in an outdoor cafe in Rome one day and here the flower truck parked outside our cafe and it looks like the man in the background is deciding which of the beauties to buy for his restaurant.

Working Out Like Crazy
We at least waited until February to start the new year's resolutions to get fit and lose weight. We rejoined the Y last week and went once. Today after a nice 1.4 mile walk in the Collierville Nature Center w/Casper I was so inspired I decided to go to the Y and do a yoga class. Needless to say, i was out of my league but you have to start somewhere. The instructor was good and I only looked at my watch 4 times in the over an hour session. I enjoyed it and will try to catch another session tomorrow or so. I really like yoga and have been successful with it in the past. It works on all parts of the body and I have to wonder why it takes me so long to get back into it after a layoff. The other good thing that happened today was that I found a recipe for spinach madeline that was adapted to work w/out the Kraft Jalapeno Roll that is no longer to be found. It is a fam fav and I haven't made it since they quit making the cheese. Look for the recipe to be posted later. It goes w/any kind of meat.
I haven't forgotten to mention that we spent Valentine's Night at Elfo's in Germantown w/Jordan and Saunders. It was sooo much fun and good, too. We will go back. Casper and Jack spent the evening doing who knows what but they were pretty happy dogs when we got back. I miss Camille and Lindsay and Valentine cupcakes like we used to make. Maybe one time we can all be together. P. S. It was not a good week for basketball.

Basketball Frenzy
Last week was a great week to be a Bulldog as the basketball team beat KY in Lexington and Arkansas at home and the girls even beat LSU for the second time this year. The Griz even won 2 of 3! I have been to 5 basketball games in the last 7 days! I love weeks like that. This week we have a big payback game against LSU at home. Think Maroon. Besides running a carpool for dogs I found time to tutor my little friends at Sheffield Elementary and have coffee with Lauren and go to the Y today! I even cooked dinner before we went to the Grizzlies. Basketball energizes me. Open dates drive me nuts.

Camille Stops Grizzlies Losing Streak
Thanks to Camille and Marion for supporting the visiting Grizzlies v. Washington Wizards and bringing out the best in them. According to my sources, the Wizards made the Grizzlies look like the Lakers! Way to go girls!
Ten Toes Up! The view from the very private beach in Tobago before the man brandishing the machete sort of put a damper on our party. We'd paid a couple of guys for our very private beach chairs and then another guy came along trying to collect for the chairs and w/a lawyer in our party convinced him to go see the guys who rented us the chairs originally. That encounter brought out the machete from the 2nd guy and mercifully no one was hurt. We charted the next water taxi to the boat and got out of there asap. I wish we had a picture of the water taxi. Our boat, the Windsurf is in the background.
Back from the West Indies
After a week of fun in the sun beginning and ending in Barbados on a cruise, it is true that there's no place like home. I am thankful for my friends like Jordan and Saunders who took care of Casper when Melba thought he'd eaten rat poison (he didn't) and Beth O. who discovered they were going to cut off the utilities in Starkville for non-payment (which we didn't) and went to the utility company and paid the bill for us. I am also thankful we had to opportunity tonight to have red chile w/the Ramseys. I think I am going vegetarian and red chile is a good place to start. Jack spent the day w/Casper today and we think it is like a personal trainer for Weetie and he is getting needed cardio. Now, to news of the weird. I left them home alone and when I got back each had one of Camille's baby dolls. They chose two babies that were identical twins and left all the stuffed animals alone. I cannot figure out there logic and why the chose the twins. What made them decide to go upstairs and look around? Jack will be back tomorrow.
